SCHOOL COUNCIL

Rebecca Smith, School Council President

Message from the School Council President

As President of School Council, I'm privileged to witness up close the strategic planning, excellence and passion that the Principal and staff put into creating the school and kindergartens’ wonderful learning environment. Personally, I'm delighted that my family is part of a school community that is so supportive, engaged and welcoming. From three year-old Kindergarten through to Grade 6, MPRPS&K offers every student the opportunity to thrive socially, emotionally and academically.

We look forward to welcoming you,

Rebecca Smith

School Council President

Function of the School Council

The School Council assists with the effective governance of MPRPS&K. The Council includes members of the teaching staff as well as elected and co-opted parent representatives. Parents hold positions on School Council for two years.

Much of the work of School Council is done through sub-committees, which review policies and make recommendations to School Council in relation to their area of responsibility.
