I have a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education from Melbourne University which I completed in 2010. My husband Brent and I live in the beautiful outskirts of Melbourne in Doreen with our two wonderful boys, William born Jan 2020 and Oliver born Aug 2022. We have a Shelti cross Pomchi dog, Murphy who we love taking on walks.
I started at Mount Pleasant Road Kindergarten in 2013 teaching Three and Four Year Old groups as well as teaching Performing Arts in the school. In 2015 I followed my Kindergarten group into Foundation where I then went on to become the Teaching and Learning Leader for the Foundation team. I worked closely with the Kinder to help develop smooth transitions to school and lead the orientation sessions. In 2019 I went on to teach Grade 1 and 2 and then went on maternity leave with my first son. Since returning from family leave, I took part in the Tutor Learning Program, working alongside students from Foundation to Grade 6.
I’m passionate about providing a positive transition to school and creating partnerships with the children and families. I enjoy supporting the children to learn through their interests and facilitating an environment to support them. I am a strong believer that we learn from each other as my own children have taught me so much already. I love singing and dancing and I play the piano. This is something I enjoy sharing with the children.
In 2023, I completed a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching. Prior to this, I had been working in the OSHC sector as an educator and then coordinator, including for many years at Mount Pleasant Road Primary.
Teaching kindergarten has been a long-held goal of mine, ever since my grown-up daughter, Lily, was in three-year-old kinder many years ago. I’m so excited to have begun my teaching journey here at Mount Pleasant Kindergarten.
Over the many years I have been working with children, I have been privileged to observe the value of play-based learning. I am a great believer in supporting and extending children’s creativity, problem-solving skills, self-confidence, and their sense of belonging through child-centred and child-directed play.
I look forward to sharing and shaping children’s learning journeys as they explore, grow, learn new skills, develop a strong sense of belonging, identity and agency, and share their ideas through the many and varied modalities that play-based learning offers.
In my free time, I love being outside in my garden or inside cultivating my little jungle of indoor plants. I also like writing, drawing and spending time with my family and our very silly, very elderly cat, Penny.
I have a master's degree in teaching and spent four incredible years as a PE teacher at MPRPS—a role I absolutely loved! My heart keeps pulling me back to early childhood, where the curiosity, wonder, and boundless energy of young learners make every day an adventure. There's nothing better than seeing little minds light up as they explore, discover, and grow.
I believe in the magic of play, movement, and hands-on experiences to spark a love of learning, build confidence, and support children's development in every way. Physical movement is my passion—whether it's running, jumping, balancing, or dancing, I know how vital it is for building strong bodies, minds, and friendships. I love creating dynamic, active learning experiences that help children move, explore, and thrive.
Outside the classroom, you’ll find me immersed in all things sport! I love playing, coaching, and cheering from the sidelines—especially when it comes to my beloved Carlton Blues. Sport has an incredible way of bringing people together, teaching resilience, and creating unforgettable memories, and I carry that same spirit into everything I do.
At home, life is just as lively with my two wonderful daughters and our two playful boxer dogs, who keep me on my toes! Whether at home, on the field, or in the classroom, I’m always on the lookout for new ways to inspire curiosity, encourage movement, and help children develop a lifelong love of learning.
I moved to Australia from China 7 years ago. I am a registered Early Childhood Teacher with the Master of Teaching - Early Childhood Education. I have Completed a Master of Translating and Interpreting. I have been teaching Mandarin for 5 years. I am working as a Mandarin teacher in VSL (Victoria School of Language) as well as implementing the Early Childhood Language Program at Mt Pleasant rd Kindergarten. I am keen to share my home language and culture with the children.
Our language program will support young children in play-based early childhood settings. I believe children learn through discussions and with rich input. The language learning should link to their interest and be interactive. Chinese culture will be embedded through books, songs, dances, games, artwork and celebrations, as language and culture are interconnected and need to be understood in relation to each other. This is achieved by fostering a team approach where educators are valued and respected. Also parental input is encouraged and welcomed
With a deep passion for working with young children and making a meaningful impact on them, I embarked on a journey of higher education in Australia. In 2018, I completed the Master of Education in Early Childhood Education at Monash University, followed by a Master of Teaching in Early Years and Primary Education in 2021.
I have had the privilege of working across diverse early childhood educational settings since 2019, including sessional kindergartens, early learning centres and long day care centres. These experiences have been invaluable, enriching my understanding of how high-quality educational programs and practices can be effectively implemented in diverse environments.
My teaching journey at Mount Pleasant Kindergarten began as a relief teacher. This year, I am very excited to be the teacher for the Marram Group in 2024. I am eager to leverage my knowledge and skills to continue contributing to the delivery of high-quality educational services for children and families.
I am dedicated to building a strong positive connection with children and families and creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that supports each child's exploration and learning journey. I believe that children learn best through play. As such, I am committed to integrating music, drama, movement, science, stories and sensory play into an engaging and inclusive play-based environment in which every child can cultivate their curiosity, creativity, problem-solving skills, and social competencies.
Outside of my professional endeavors, I live with my husband, Shuang and our beloved pets. We have a cavoodle dog named Peppa and a domestic short hair cat named Bu. We love walking our dog at the park. In my spare time, I enjoy music, meditation and travel.
Hi, my name is Kristy,
I have three beautiful teenage children, Reece, Charlie and Aiden- and our spoilt dog, luna, who we love to take with us on holidays to the beach.
After having an interest in Early childhood for many years, I completed my diploma in Early childhood education and care in 2019.
I began my journey in Early Childhood in a long day care service, working with children from 2-5 years old and supporting them in all areas of development and learning, and fostering a trusting relationship with each child.
I love being a part of each child's early years, supporting their emerging confidence, and witnessing their pride as they accomplish new tasks each day.
I have a strong belief that each child learns differently, and love discovering how to meet their individual needs in order for them to flourish.
Each child comes to Kinder as a unique and capable person, supporting them as this awareness emerges is something that I am passionate about.
I have been at Mt Pleasant Kindergarten since 2022, working across the three-year-old and four-year-old groups, and have loved building connections with families and the wider community.
My name is Paige, and I am an educator at Mount Pleasant Kindergarten. I currently hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and am working to complete my diploma qualification by the end of 2025.
Since 2018, I have worked as a swimming instructor and a gymnastics teacher. It was in these roles where I discovered my love for working with young children, and developed a passion to helping them develop and learn new skills in a fun, engaging and safe environment.
Outside of my work life, my favourite thing to do is to go wakeboarding on Lake Eildon with my family. I also love watching and cheering on my favourite AFL team, the Brisbane Lions.
I am excited to meet all the new students and make connections with each child. I’m really looking forward to the year ahead as we embark on this journey together.
I have been in the Early Childhood field for many years, working in long Day Care, sessional kinder and also as a trainer for Early Childhood students on placement and as a reviewer for the National Childcare Accreditation Council. I am passionate about getting to know each child, being able to identify their interests, needs and developmental progress, both as an individual and as part of the whole group. I have worked in both country and suburban settings. I grew up in the country, in the Gippsland area and moved to the city to study. My first qualification was as a Preschool Mothercraft nurse certificate in Child Care social science. Later I updated my qualifications to what is now recognised as a Dipolma in Early Childhood. My husband, Craig and I have 3 children, Liam Tammy and Daniel. We have 2 Ragdoll cats, “Daisy” 9 years old and “River” 3 years. I enjoy music and my 3 children all play string instruments. I love plants and gardening, with an extra interest in orchids. I have experience in “bush kinder” and with my background growing up around bush areas, (places like Wilsons Prom) I have a love for the bush and the native flora and fauna.
