Welcome to the Mount Pleasant Road Primary School and Kindergarten website. 

We are unique to this area as we cater for the education of children from Three Year Old Kindergarten through to Year Six. The school motto is “Guided Growth” and we nurture our students to learn, achieve and grow in order to successfully navigate whatever their future may bring. We are a growing school where everyone is welcome to contribute to our friendly community.

Our dedicated and enthusiastic staff have an ongoing commitment to provide a curriculum which is designed to meet the specific individual learning needs of all students. Our programs ensure students are engaged, motivated and proud of their achievements.

Our school actively promotes the safety and wellbeing of all students. We know that happy and secure children mean they are ready to learn and make the most of all learning opportunities. We have a comprehensive approach to student wellbeing from positive psychology to restorative practices. Mount Pleasant Road has a proven record of academic achievement due to our excellent Literacy and Numeracy teaching and learning practices and was recognised as one of the top state schools in Victoria for student improvement. Students are supported to understand their learning goals, develop strategies to improve their skills, and evaluate, recognise and appreciate their own achievements and those of others. The use of digital technologies promotes student engagement and global connectedness.

Specialist programs in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Physical Education, Science and LOTE - Indonesian are provided for students across the school. Whether your child’s interests lie in academic, sporting or creative pursuits we have co-curricular programs to nurture their talents and skills.  Opportunities include instrumental music, environmental education, Kitchen Garden program, sport, choirs and dance troupes, public speaking, social skills programs, Buddies, intervention and enrichment opportunities and student leadership.

Set within large picturesque grounds, we have new, state of the art facilities, which we were excited to move into in 2015. We are currently building 8 new classrooms and expanding the Café Studio to house a Science Lab and modern Performing Arts centre with a media room, planned to be completed by the end of 2024. There are also many opportunities for your involvement as a member of our very caring school community.
